OUR BELT PICKS FOR YOU
These are the belts athletes keep coming back to — and gifting to their training partners.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE BELT
Why Every Lifter Should Use a Belt
Here's the most common misconception in the gym: "A belt makes you weak. It's a crutch."
The research says the opposite. When you wear a belt, your core muscles brace harder against it — increasing intra-abdominal pressure by up to 40%. That pressure creates a rigid cylinder around your spine, protecting your lower back and allowing you to transfer more force into the bar.
Elite powerlifters, Olympic weightlifters, and CrossFit Games athletes all train with belts. Not because they're weak — because they want to lift more, stay healthy, and compete for decades.
If you're squatting, deadlifting, cleaning, or snatching above 75–80% of your max, a belt isn't optional. It's the tool that bridges the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
THE ALL-AROUND BELT
4" WEIGHTLIFTING BELTS
The 4" straight belt is the right choice for most athletes — CrossFit, Olympic lifting, powerlifting, or general strength training. Fits torsos of all sizes. Worn by beginners and Games athletes alike.

THE TECHNOLOGY INSIDE EVERY BELT
The WODClamp is the steel buckle built into every 2POOD belt. It threads over the velcro strap and locks it in place — so your belt stays exactly where you set it, rep after rep. It also makes adjusting between sets fast: loosen it, reset your position, lock it back down. No fumbling, no re-velcroing mid-session.

WHICH BELT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
2POOD makes three belt styles — each designed for a specific athlete profile. Here's how to choose.

4" Standard Belt
Best for: Most athletes — CrossFit, Olympic lifting, powerlifting, general strength training.
Width: 4" uniform width front and back.
Why choose it: The most versatile belt in our lineup. Fits most torso lengths and works across all movement patterns. If you're not sure which belt to get, start here.

3" Petite Belt
Best for: Athletes with shorter torsos where a 4" belt digs into the ribs or hips.
Width: 3" uniform width front and back.
Why choose it: Designed specifically for shorter torsos. Same WODClamp, same Cordura nylon, same competition certification — just a narrower profile that sits comfortably without pinching.

10MM Lever Belt
Best for: Athletes focused on maximal strength — powerlifting, heavy squats, heavy deadlifts, and anyone who wants the most rigid, locked-in support available.
Width: 4" uniform width, 10mm thick rigid leather construction.
Why choose it: Where nylon belts flex and breathe, the 10MM Lever Belt doesn't move — period. The lever buckle mechanism lets you micro-adjust the fit to the exact millimeter and snap it locked in under a second.

3" PETITE BELTS
The 3" Petite belt was built for athletes whose torso length makes a standard 4" belt uncomfortable. Same WODClamp. Same Cordura nylon. Same competition certification. Just a better fit for your frame.

WHAT OUR COMMUNITY SAYS
Sarah M.
Finally a belt that stays put
"I tried two other nylon belts before this one. Both popped open during a heavy clean. The WODClamp on the 2POOD is a completely different experience — it locks and it STAYS locked. I've been using mine for 2 years and it looks brand new."
Jake T.
Hit my first 400lb deadlift in this belt
"Bought the Operator belt after my coach recommended 2POOD. Put it on for the first time and it felt like it was made for my body. No break-in, no awkward stiffness. Hit a 400lb deadlift PR the same week. This belt is the real deal."
Megan R.
The 3" Petite is a game changer for shorter athletes
"I'm 5'2" and every 4" belt I tried dug into my ribs. The 3" Petite fits perfectly — sits right where it should with zero discomfort. I wear it for every WOD that has any kind of loading. Couldn't recommend it more."
Chris D.
Worth every penny
"I was skeptical about spending $65 on a belt when you can find cheap ones for $20. Three months in — the cheap belt I had before is already falling apart. My 2POOD looks and performs exactly the same as day one. Buy it once, use it forever."
Amanda K.
Used it at Regionals — no issues
"Competed at CrossFit Regionals in my 2POOD. Belt was approved without question. Performed perfectly through 5 events. I've recommended it to every athlete in my gym."
Tom B.
Best first belt for a beginner
"Just started taking lifting seriously and my coach told me to get a 2POOD. The sizing guide was super clear — ordered a medium, fits perfectly. I had no idea how much a belt would change my squats. Highly recommend for anyone just starting out."
GOT QUESTIONS?
FREQUENTLY ASKED
New to lifting belts? You're not alone. Here are the questions we hear most from lifters who are buying their first belt — or switching to 2POOD for the first time.
Will wearing a belt make my core weaker?
This is the most common myth about lifting belts — and research consistently shows it's wrong. Studies show that wearing a belt actually increases abdominal muscle activation. Your abs brace harder against the belt, which over time builds a stronger midsection. Elite powerlifters and Olympic lifters have extraordinary core strength — and they all train with belts.
Do I need to break in a 2POOD belt?
No. Unlike leather belts that can take months of painful break-in before they're comfortable, 2POOD nylon belts are functional from the moment you put them on. The Cordura nylon and foam core give you structured support with immediate comfort — no stiffness, no bruising, no waiting.
Won't the velcro pop open on a heavy lift?
That's exactly why we invented the WODClamp. It's our proprietary self-locking steel buckle that threads over the velcro strap and hard-locks it in place. The velcro holds the fit — the WODClamp locks it in. Your belt is not coming off.
How do I know which size to order?
2POOD sizing is based on your waist measurement at the navel — not your clothing size. Measure around your midsection where the belt will sit (1–2 inches above your hip bones). Then match that number to our sizing chart. When in doubt, size down — belts are meant to fit snugly. Check our full sizing guide for exact measurements by size.
Is 2POOD legal for competition?
Yes. 2POOD belts are approved for USAW, IWF, CrossFit, and USPA competition. We are the Official Belt of USA Weightlifting and the Official Belt of CrossFit® — worn by athletes competing at the highest levels in the sport. Train in the same belt you'll compete in.
What's the difference between the 4" & 3" belt?
4" Standard — The all-around belt, right for most athletes. Works for CrossFit, Olympic lifting, and powerlifting. If you're unsure, start here.
3" Petite — Designed for shorter torsos where a 4" belt digs into ribs or hips. Same performance, narrower profile.
When should I start using a weightlifting belt?
Most coaches recommend introducing a belt once you've learned proper bracing technique and are working at or above 75–80% of your 1-rep max on compound lifts (squat, deadlift, clean, snatch). The belt is a performance tool — it amplifies good technique, it doesn't replace it. If you're new to lifting, spend a few months learning to brace your core without a belt first, then add it as your loads increase.
